Respect the forest 🌲

Always follow these guidelines when out climbing to help protect nature and avoid disturbing others in the forest. In the end it’s about keeping climbing areas open β€” bans have already been imposed on several nearby rope crags – let's not do the same mistakes for bouldering!

  • Keep a low profile – especially when visiting a smaller or sensitive area.
  • Pick up your trash – and why not others' as well? Keep nature clean and leave no traces!
  • Avoid damaging the surrounding nature and try not to disturb the wildlife.
  • Brush off tickmarks and excessive chalk when you leave.
  • If using a burner to dry the stone, apply caution and avoid flakes/cracks since the heat might break the rock.
  • Walk a fair bit off-trail and dig a hole if you have to relieve yourself!

Nature-reserves πŸ„

Some climbing spots are also nature-reserves or other types of protected areas. The following restrictions must be followed in these places:

  • Do not damage trees, plants or the surrounding terrain.
  • Do not disturb the wildlife.
  • Do not make fires.
  • Dogs must always be on a leash.
  • Area specific restrictions may apply – see orange text on Area pages.
  • It's all climbers responsibility to stay up to date with restrictions for areas we visit.
